Today is the 15th of May 2022, the last gameday for the 2nd Bundesliga and SV Werder Bremen has the chance to ascend into the 1st Bundesliga, as there is a fan march planned, a friend and I decided to join in and enjoy some of the atmosphere and take some photos of course.

As the Trams were rerouted to avoid the city centre with all the crowds, we had to walk the short 1,5km to Domsheide and were met with a huge crowd of a few thousand fans.

Thus it started, shouting and singing from all sides, the atmosphere was amazing only downside is that one has to keep watching oneselves feet as there are broken beer bottles littered every square meter on the floor.

Bengalos made the air colourful hazy and thick, coughing ensued.
A few of those around us forced me to split from the group, as my lungs dont agree with toxic air and i had a walk around to the river, which offered a different perspective on the spectacle.
At the satdium, the last few tried to get a ticket, probably unaware, that offmarket prices rose to around 800 Euros a piece

As I am not a football fans, it was also time for me to walk back to the next tram station and discover some of the neighberhood as well as the now empty but littered streets.

On the way I met a few fans of the opposing team and some running late fans of the home team, that didnt attend the march.
At last getting closer and closer to the city center, street cleaning personel were hard at work restoring the street and picking up the countless bottles and shards left behind by the crowd.

As I edited these pictures at home, Bremen won the game 2:1, thus coming second in the league and securing their promoting into the first league.
So more people will get to vist this great city in the next year to watch football and support their teams!
